Quick Recovery After
Balloon Sinuplasty
Because balloon sinuplasty is minimally invasive with no stitches and no nasal packing, recovery is remarkably fast. Most patients return to normal activities within just 24–48 hours.
Understanding Your Recovery
Since the treatment is minimally invasive with no stitches and no nasal packing, your balloon sinuplasty recovery should be quick. After your procedure, most patients have only mild discomfort and should follow easy-to-do post-procedure guidance.
Your nose may feel slightly numb for a few hours after your procedure as any local anesthetic applied during the procedure wears off. Despite this sensation, you will still be able to breathe and swallow normally.
- Do not blow your nose for 1 week
- Keep nasal passages moist with saline sprays and rinses several times a day
- Some light bleeding may occur the first day after your procedure
- If you need to sneeze, release it through your mouth
- Resume activities within 48 hours
- Most of the healing happens in the first week or two
