Understanding Your Recovery
Since the treatment is minimally invasive with no stitches and no nasal packing, your balloon sinuplasty recovery should be quick. After your procedure, you will experience minimal discomfort and should follow easy-to-do post-procedure guidance.
Your nose may feel slightly numb for a few hours after your procedure as any local anesthetic applied during the procedure wears off. Despite this sensation, you will still be able to breathe and swallow normally.
- Try not to blow your nose for the first 24–48 hours
- Keep nasal passages moist with saline sprays and rinses several times a day
- Some light bleeding may occur the first day after your procedure
- If you need to sneeze, release it through your mouth
- Resume activities within 48 hours
- After one week, your sinuses will be 90% healed
