Zachary D. Wassmuth, MD
Board-certified otolaryngologist & sleep medicine specialist. The first physician in Austin to perform balloon sinuplasty — with over 10,000 sinus surgeries completed.
Dr. Wassmuth grew up in Dallas and attended the University of Texas at Austin before completing his medical training at UT Medical Branch in Galveston and his residency at Walter Reed in Washington, D.C. After serving as Chief of Otolaryngology at Fort Hood for three years, he moved to Austin in 2003 and helped establish what is now Capital ENT & Sinus Center.
Dr. Wassmuth specializes in nasal obstruction, chronic sinusitis, and obstructive sleep apnea. As the first physician in Austin to perform a balloon sinuplasty — with over 10,000 nasal and sinus surgeries completed — he is one of the most experienced sinus surgeons in Central Texas. He is also board certified in sleep medicine and has built an airway team in Austin that includes neurologists, dentists, orthodontists, oral surgeons, and myofunctional therapists, giving his patients treatment options that many physicians don’t even know exist.
