Dizziness & Imbalance
Treatment in Austin

Episodes of dizziness or vertigo can be disorienting and disruptive. Capital ENT's team of ENT physicians and audiologists provides comprehensive balance evaluations to identify the cause and get you back on solid ground.

Understanding Dizziness

Do You Experience Episodes of Dizziness or Imbalance?

If you do, you are not alone. Dizziness and imbalance is the second most common reason someone visits their family doctor. Determining the cause of your dizziness requires a thorough evaluation of your balance system.

The team of experts at Capital ENT and Sinus Center, including ENT physicians and audiologists, will perform a comprehensive evaluation of the ear and balance system and coordinate your care with other specialists as necessary, such as cardiology or neurology.

Do your symptoms include:

  • Lightheadedness
  • Feeling off balance
  • Vertigo (the illusion that your surroundings are moving)
  • Unsteadiness when walking or standing

How We Diagnose

Evaluation & Diagnosis

Capital ENT uses state-of-the-art technology to pinpoint the cause of your dizziness and create a targeted treatment plan.

In-Office CT Scanner

Our physicians use advanced diagnostic imaging with our in-office CT scanner to provide high-resolution pictures of the middle ear cavity and surrounding structures that may be contributing to your dizziness.

Comprehensive Hearing Tests

Our audiologists use the latest in sound isolation booth technology to obtain highly accurate hearing testing. This evaluation is critical as many causes of dizziness may also cause hearing loss.

Videonystagmography (VNG)

VNG testing evaluates the different parts of the balance system to pinpoint the source of dizziness. While VNG is not performed in our office, we regularly refer patients to trusted specialists for this testing when clinically indicated.

MRI Imaging

When needed, our physicians may order an outpatient MRI to check for abnormalities of the brain or inner ear structures that may be causing dizziness or balance problems.
