Your First Visit to Capital ENT
We want your experience to be as smooth and comfortable as possible. Here's everything you need to know before your first appointment.
Your First Appointment
Most first visits take 30 to 60 minutes. Here's what a typical appointment looks like.
Check In
Arrive 15 minutes early to complete any remaining paperwork. Our front desk team will verify your insurance and collect any co-pay.
Medical History Review
Your provider will review your symptoms, medical history, current medications, and any previous treatments you've tried.
Examination
A thorough examination of your ears, nose, and throat. Depending on your symptoms, this may include nasal endoscopy or other in-office diagnostics.
Diagnosis & Treatment Plan
Your provider will explain their findings, discuss your options, and recommend a treatment plan tailored to your needs. You'll have time to ask questions.
What to Bring
Photo ID & Insurance Card
Bring your driver's license or state ID along with your current insurance card. We'll verify your benefits before your visit.
List of Current Medications
Include prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, and supplements you take regularly. Dosages are helpful if you have them.
Referral Letter (If Required)
PPO patients can schedule directly with no referral. HMO patients typically need a referral from their primary care physician.
Previous Imaging
If you've had CT scans, X-rays, or MRIs related to your condition, bring them on a disc. This helps your provider avoid ordering duplicate studies.
Sleep Study Results
If you've had a home or in-lab sleep study done elsewhere, bring your results. This saves time and helps your provider recommend the right treatment.
Hearing Tests & Other Studies
Bring any previous audiograms, allergy test results, or other relevant studies so your provider has the complete picture.
We Accept Most Major Plans
Capital ENT participates with most commercial and Medicare insurance plans. Our billing team verifies your coverage before your appointment so there are no surprises.
No referral needed for PPO plans. HMO members should obtain a referral from their PCP before scheduling. Not sure which you have? Check the back of your insurance card or call 512-339-4040.
